In this study, we have tried to highlight the importance of the legal and jurisprudential definition of maritime borders in international law and the practice of states and international judiciary, and the importance of delineating maritime borders between states and the mechanisms for their delimitation and demarcation in the conventions on the law of the sea.
And the definition of the different marine areas, the importance of defining the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured, the mechanisms of measuring marine areas in international law and the conventions on the law of the sea, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and in the international judiciary and the role of the international judiciary in confirming international custom in the field of delimitation and demarcation of borders And the importance of defining the exclusive economic zone and how it was established, and the rights and duties in that maritime zone, whether those rights and duties relate to coastal states or other states, with an indication of the legal nature of this important area , And the role of the international judiciary in the peaceful settlement of maritime border disputes through the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the International Court of Justice and Special Arbitration Courts, and its contribution to consolidating the rules for demarcating maritime borders, especially between the opposite and neighboring countries, stating the rights of the coastal state beyond the exclusive economic zones, and defining the legal nature of the continental shelf The islands and the effect of the islands on the designation and demarcation of the exclusive economic zone, With the clarification of the importance of the 2003 Egyptian-Cypriot agreement regarding the demarcation of the maritime borders between the two countries and the settlement of disputes regarding their interpretation, with the study of the Turkish vision regarding the demarcation of borders in the eastern Mediterranean region, and the study of the Greek vision of demarcating the borders with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the compatibility of these visions with the provisions of international law, To determine the most appropriate way to demarcate the Egyptian maritime borders in the eastern Mediterranean to achieve optimum utilization in the exclusive economic zones of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
