Abstract

Nader field study area lies in the southern part of Khalda ridge
concession which is located to the east of Shushan basin in the north
Western Desert of Egypt between latitudes 30° 52’ 48” & 31 ° 3’ 2.5”
~
Nand longitudes 26° 56’ 38.4”& 27° 13’ 48” E. It produces
hydrocarbon from Bahariya Formation, so this study will try to
determine new zones below and above Bahariya Formation which
.~
can be promising for hydrocarbon accumulations, in addition to
reduce the risk of drilling unproductive wells in the future by
determining new proposed locations which are supported by the high
structure position, good porosity, low shale content, and high percent
of hydrocarbon saturation.
The other objectives of the present study are to:
1. Identify the subsurface geological structures,
2. Estimate the hydrocarbon potentiality and the petrophysical
properties for the subsurface reservoir rocks.
To achieve these objectives the different geophysical
techniques represented by conventional and unconventional seismic
interpretation, post stack seismic inversion, reservoir petrophysics,
multi seismic attributes and neural network were used.
Conventional and unconventional seismic interpretation was a great
tool to clarify the structural settings on the tops of the interested
geological formations. Delineation of the structural elements, in the
form of fault elements and tectonic implications, has been achieved
in the study area. Time and depth structure contour maps on the tops
of Upper and Lower Bahariya Formation were constructed using the
