Abstract

Anorgasmia in females is a worldwide phenomenon especially in the Arab area including our country Egypt due to the culture barriers.
Orgasm is defined as a compelling brief event that is an integration of cognitive, emotional, somatic, visceral and neural processes. It is peak of intense pleasure.
In our study we found high prevelant of anorgasmia and the commonest cause was pain that may be due to lack of experience of the husband, infections, vaginismus and so on.
Using self reported quationner containing 25 questions to assess different factors affecting sexuality in females.
• In our study the most common age in our participants was 20_29 years old (62%), the same group was the most common age of marriage (60%).
• Among the participants (46.5%) had a university degree.
• In our study (40.5%) were living in acity.
• In this study (70%) of the participants were Circumcised.
• Among the participants 30.5% feel sexual desire once daily.
• The most coital frequency was once weekly 60.5%, which was suitable for 41%of the participants.
• Out of 200 women 57.5% felt vaginal lubrication in more than half of intercourse times and 58.5% were found to maintain lubrication for less than half of intercourse times.
• Dyspareunia was found in 48.5% of participants.
• Among the participants 45% could never or rarely reach orgasm, 50% of them were distressed.
• In the present study 45.5% found that is very difficult to reach orgasm, 56% need long time to reach orgasm.
• Most of the participants reached orgasm mostly during afterplay.
• Pain was the commonest cause of anorgasmia in our study, followed by hadn’t enough time of foreplay.
• Among the participants 60.5% faked orgasm which is almost done to satisfy the husband.
• Large numbers of the participants reaching orgasm by manual stimulation.
• The commonest positions in reaching orgasm in our study were rear entry followed by man on top position.
• Most of the participants considered not reaching orgasm was a failure.
