Abstract

This thesis works toward the synthesis of an eco-friendly tin oxide nanocatalysts modified with fluoride (F-SnO2) and sulfamic acid (SA-SnO2) and studying the structural characterization and catalytic activity of the prepared nanomaterials. 1. Preparation of SnO2, F-SnO2 and SA-SnO2 SnO2 was prepared by sol gel method using tin tetrachloride in ethanol. Tin oxide was doped with different amount of fluoride (10, 25, 35, 45 and 55 wt.% F-) to get F-SnO2 nanoparticles. SA-SnO2 prepared by impregnation method, in which tin oxide impregnated with different amounts of sulfamic acid (5, 10, 15, 25 and 35 wt.% SA). 2. Structural characterization of SnO2, F-SnO2 and SA-SnO2 3. Structural characterization of the samples has been done by using TGA, XRD, SEM, TEM, FTIR, XPS, EDS, N2 adsorption, non-aqueous titration and FTIR of chemisorbed pyridine. 4. Applications of SnO2, F-SnO2 and SA-SnO2 The prepared heterogeneous solid catalysts were applied as ecofriendly materials in the field of catalysis for synthesis of 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and synthesis of 14-Aryl-14-H-dibenzo [a,j]xanthene as alternative catalysts for some of liquid catalysts and mineral acids which have danger effects on the environment.
