Experimental investigations have been done on a hot horizontal stainless-steel flat plate by sub-cooled liquid water with single and multi-circular water jets. The cooling rates have been studied on different parameters such as initial temperature (350°C,400°C and 450°C), Number of jets (1 , 8 , 16 jets),Coolant temperature (degrees of sub-cooling between 20°C and 70°C), jet velocity (Vj = 1.8m/s) and surface shape (flat).The coolant was impinged from the jet which has diameter of 3mm to the center of the specimen. The impingement was 10 cm above the specimen in the vertical direction. Quenching process with multi jets made more efficient cooling than the single jet as the specimen is surrounded with water jets in different places which will reduce the surface core temperature and heat flux in small time.
