Abstract The role leaders play in promoting workplace safety has attracted the attention of many researchers. This study aims at exploring the relationship between safety leadership and employees’ safety citizenship behaviors, a concept of a growing concern, that hasn’t been extensively researched particularly in Egypt. With taking into consideration, the differences between blue and white collar employees regarding their safety citizenship behaviors. The research was carried out in one of the multinational Power System and Automation Company in Egypt, which puts a great emphasis on safety, through distributing self-administrated questionnaires to collect the required data from both blue and white collar employees, with a total sample of 310 respondents. Moreover, the data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS, where correlation coefficients were measured and multiple linear regression analysis was conducted. The results confirmed a significant impact of safety leadership on SCBs where safety controlling was found to have a significant impact on all SCBs, followed by safety coaching. Nevertheless, safety caring had no significant impact on SCBs. Accordingly, the researcher suggested a number of recommendations to be put into action in order to improve and maintain the workplace safety in ABB. - Key Terms: Safety leadership and Safety citizenship behaviors (SCBs). |
