Abstract

The congenital coronary artery anomalies that present in adulthood are relatively uncommon. The clinical presentation is variable and the abnormality may remain clinically occult or it can have life-threatening consequences, such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, or even sudden death. The recent development of ECG gated multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) coronary angiography allows accurate and non-invasive depiction of coronary artery anomalies (Graidis et al., 2015).In this study 40 patients diagnosed with congenital coronary artery anomalies among 600 patients were examined by ECG gated MDCT coronary angiography in CT unit in radiology department of national heart institute between (February 2018 to February 2019).Giving a prevalence of 6.6 % among the total screened population. Mean age was 55.8 +/- 14.12 with male gender predominance represented 62.5% (25 patients). Most of the studied patients were presented by atypical chest pain (57.5%) followed by typical chest pain (42.5%).Anomalies of origin were seen in 16 patients (40% of anomalies), anomalies of course were seen in 23 patients (57.5 % of anomalies) and anomalies of termination were seen in one patient (2.5 % anomalies).Hemodynamically significant anomalies were seen in 10 patients (25 % of anomalies) while non-hemodynamically significant were seen in 30 patient (75 % of anomalies).
