Abstract MS is the most common inflammatory demyelinating disease of the CNS. Our study concerned with evaluation the diagnostic accuracy of DIR in assessment of MS lesions in comparison to T2 and FLAIR. This study carried out on 90 patients with female to male ratio about 1.8:1.Their mean age was 33.24 years. Our results were promising. from our results we concluded that, DIR was highly sensitive in ICLs detection as well as it demonstrated a better morphological characterization and delineation of white matter lesions in different anatomical locations with good differentiation between juxta-cortical and mixed white matter-grey matter lesions. This means that DIR can efficiently detect both white and grey matter lesions. As regard spinal cord MS lesions, our results were worthy attention; as we found that DIR provided a more exact delineation of the lesions and slightly improved lesion-detection rates. |
