Abstract

The area of study lies in Jade field in Matruh basin in the North Western Desert of Egypt. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the Alam El Bueib reservoirs (AEB – 3G and AEB – 6) using well log data analysis, seismic data and core analysis. In addition, the different reservoir parameters using well log data and core analysis were determined, the structural features were determined using the seismic data. The depth and thickness maps were also constructed. The subsurface structural features were determined through interpretation of 20 3D seismic lines and revealed that Alam El Bueib formation interpreted horizons are almost concordant and have the same structural elements. AEB horizons were deposited in the same basin and put under the same tectonic events after their deposition. AEB different horizons were affected by the master fault (F1) is a reverse fault extending Northeast - Southwest direction. In addition to F2, F3, F4, F5, F6 and F7 are normal faults extending northwest - Southeast direction. The hydrocarbon indicators were obviously seen. The well log analysis is used to evaluate productive zones and the hydrocarbon potentiality of AEB reservoirs. This was carried using (Interactive Petrophysics V3.6) program this study focused on AEB – 3G and AEB – 6 Reservoirs. The results showed that Sandstone is the dominant lithology of AEB -3G and AEB – 6 reservoirs with some shale streaks. The effect of gas is observed in AEB -3G and AEB – 6 Reservoirs. The calculated movable hydrocarbon content showed the good reservoir quality. The good relation between well log derived parameters and core data results show the accuracy of the reservoir evaluation.
