Abstract

This thesis is divided into four chapters as follow:
Chapter 1 is an introduction on IoT, its applications, its dierent available
technologies and its market trending, also includes an introduction on the
chosen IoT technology which is the WiFi and its market trend.
Chapter 2 includes a survey on the available architectures and topologies used
in WiFi receivers for IoT, the proposed WiFi architecture and the technique
used in reducing the energy of the proposed receiver, also includes a survey on
the techniques used in the optimization of receivers power consumption and
the chosen technique, this chapter also presents a mathematical derivations for
the dynamic range of dierent types of Mixers and LNAs .
Chapter 3 presents the derivation used to get an expression for the dynamic
range of a single balanced current driven passive mixers, also presents a design
for the passive mixer using TSMC180nm.
Chapter 4 presents a conclusion for the thesis and the future work
