Abstract

In this study, the penetration ability and cleansing effect of NaOCl and CHX nanoemulsion and NaOCl and CHX normal particle size was assessed. Mechanical preparation of root canal samples was done using the ingredients as irrigating solution during cleaning and shaping. The roots were then splitted then examined under SEM.
The antibacterial effect of NaOCl and CHX nanoemulsion and NaOCl and CHX normal particle size was also evaluated. Mechanically prepared single root canals irrigated with saline solution during cleaning and shaping were injected with E.faecalis. The root canals were then irrigated by the reagents under examination. After incubation period, samples from the canals were collected with paper point and implanted on agar plates then CFUs was calculated.
According to the results of our study, the use of PUI was more potent effect in cleansing and debris removal than either laser or no activation. NaOCl nanoemulsion had better ability in cleansing of the root canals than NaOCl normal particle size and also was more effective as an antibacterial agent. CHX nanoemulsion was effective antibacterial agent but its cleansing ability was not as effective as NaOCl. Diode laser activation had no activating effect on the irrigating solutions but showed adverse effect on NaOCl nanoemulsion. The use of NaOCl II nanoemulsion activated by PUI was best irrigation technique.
