The importance of patient perception of their own health regarding the complexity of cancer, which is a disease that affects every dimension of life and the way in which individuals perceive the environment, the diagnosis, and the therapy. Therefore, the combination of periodic quality of life assessments and clinical practice should be more extensively done. Although improvement of tumor related symptoms; dyspnea and cough reported by study participants with good impact on HRQoL between before and after chemotherapy administration; we found that majority of aspects; function, symptom and treatment side effects increased with negative effect on HRQoL. Giving impression that participants QOL worsened after introduction of chemotherapy. The negative impact on HRQoL in our patients may be related to multifactorial complex consistant of: Patients factors: performance and healthy status(physical, nutrional, psychological and social) at diagnosis. Tumor factor: histology and stage at diagnosis and response to treatment. Treatment options. Also we found no superiority of the used protocols regarding tumour response to treatment but it gives idea about selection of protocol after assessment of patient risk and drugs toxicity profile, analyzing the connection between drug therapy and the severity of signs and self-reported symptoms, given their impact on certain aspects of HRQoL. |
