Abstract

One of the revolutionary and unique technologies being used nowadays in the agriculture field is nanotechnology which offers the synthesis of materials having a particle size in the nanoscale range, with new chemical, physical, optical and magnetic properties. In the present work SiO2(NPs), TiO2(NPs), CuO(NPs) and ZnO(NPs) were synthesized by simple chemical methods and characterized by X-ray diffraction and Transmission electron microscope. The characterization tools proved that the nanostructre dimintions of the prepared materials. The effect of the synthesized Nanoparticles safety experiment was investigated in vivo, the LD50 values were evaluated as follow 2012, 2225, 2775 and 3000 mg/kg for CuO, ZnO, TiO2 and SiO2 Nanoparticles, respectively. It was found that the prepared nanomaterials have anti cancer properties against the human liver hepatome HepG2 cells. The results show that these nanoparticles (CuO, ZnO, SiO2 and TiO2) exhibit IC50 values 5.99± 0.07 µg/mL, 14±0.48 µg/mL, 22.7±1.25 µg/mL and 290±29.10 µg/mL, respectively. In comparison with the biocide (Bacteria, Fungi) and the Methomyl, it was found that the tested Nanoparticles (SiO2, TiO2, CuO, ZnO) and their mixtures SiO2(NPs)-TiO2(NPs), CuO(NPs)-TiO2(NPs) and ZnO(NPs)-TiO2(NPs) had the potent toxic effect against the second and fourth instars of the cotton leafworm (Spodoptera littoralis) reached to 100% mortality. Also all the tested treatments had a great effect on all the biological aspects of the insect as (longevity, pupation, malformation, pupal weight, eggs hatching, fecundity and adult sex ratio). Moreover the novel property of the tested Nanoparticles is the Photodegredation of the Methomyl pesticide was tested. It was found that by mixing the Methomyl pesticide with each type of nanoparticles material and the second and fourth instars of the cotton leafworm (Spodoptera littoralis) in comparison of the Methomyl alone without any addition of nanoparticles. There was a decrease in the mortality % of the insect larvae treated with the mixture which indicates that these nanoparticles have photodegredation properties against the Methomyl pesticide.
