Abstract Antenatal care (ANC) is a type of preventive healthcare which defined as the routine care of pregnant women provided between conception and the onset of labor. Antenatal care is an opportunity to provide care for prevention and management of existing and potential causes of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. The objectives of this study were to asses prevalence and factors affecting compliance among pregnant females in Tanta District family health care facilities, Gharbia governorate. This was case control nested on cross-sectional study which was conducted on 330 females. It included pregnant women in the third trimester attended Tanta family healthcare center (urban area) and Mahalet Rouh family health unit (rural area) in Tanta district, Gharbia governorate, during the period from the beginning of January 2017 up to the end of March 2017 with response rate (91.6% and 100%) respectively. The studied group were interviewed face-to-face through a predesigned questionnaire to assess personal general characteristics (age, gender, education, occupation, marital status and residence), assess obstetric history of previous and current pregnancy and compliance of pregnant women to ANC visits. |
