Abstract The main objective of the present study was to estimate the combining ability for ten new yellow maize inbred lines and their 45 F1 at three field experiments in two seasons. As well, identify the superior maize crosses and their parents for high grain yield as well as resistance to late wilt and downy mildew diseases, also identify the type of gene action that controls the inheritance of the studied traits and to estimate the superiority percentages relative to check hybrids; SC162 and SC168 for disease resistance, some maize growth traits and yield and its components. |
