Abstract

The present study was carried out during the two successive seasons of (2013-2014 and 2014-2015). The experiment was conducted at Baramoon Experimental Research Farm, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. The aim of this study was to determine the maximum period of tolerance of cold storage for chrysanthemum cuttings, optimum level of IBA, NAA and Root fast for rooting of chrysanthemums cuttings and the optimal interaction between rooting stimulants and storage periods of low temperature (4°C). In addition, studying the effect of these treatments on solving the problem of flowering period shortage and the long period from planting until flowering in chrysanthemum plants.
- For this study, mother plants of chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora, Tzevlev) Var ”Looding” were purchased from a commercial nursery in El-Kanater El-Khaireia, El-Kalyobia Governorate. The cutting is stored at (4° C±2) for different duration 0-time (control), 1, 2, 3 and 4 months. After the end of storage durations cuttings base dipped in Indole butyric acid (IBA); Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and Root Fast. After that, cuttings were planted directly.
•This study revealed the following results :-
1-Storage of non-rooting cuttings of chrysanthemum for one month after that dipped them for 10 min. in 1000ppm IBA increased all rooting, vegetative growth, flowering parameters and improve keeping quality of chrysanthemum.
2-The increased Root Fast concentration treatments improved parameters under this study. We can say in future work using a higher concentration of Root fast.
