Abstract

Okra is considered as a one of the most important vegetable plants in the world. For that, plant breeders were very interested in using diverse breeding programs to improve this plant. Inducing mutations with its different techniques especially by using gamma rays considered as one of the important methods to get new genotypes benefits in breeding and improvement programs. This methods help in inducing genetic variation services in selecting new improved traits, this variation occurs in the two genetic and phenotypic levels. the correlation between phenotypic and molecular changes, help in discover new molecular markers using varied methods like RAPD technique, which service the selection of improved traits related with this markers at the molecular level. This techniques save a lot of effort, time and coasts paid in selection process and aids the plant breeder to reach his diverse goals in improving economical plants.
