Abstract

Air pollution causes prevalence of many chronic diseases, especially respiratory
diseases. The healthy diet may play an important role in reducing the risk of exposure
to air pollutants.
The problem of research is the imbalance between the intake of foods rich in
antioxidants and inhalants of oxidants (air pollutants), which increases the risk of
chronic chest disease. Families in the study areas were suffering from increase sources
of air pollution. In Alexandria, especially the western region, which suffers from
dangerous pollution, where pollutants exceed the international safe level, which may
lead to an increase in asthma and chronic chest diseases. Qena is also suffering from
external and internal air pollution, especially in the research area.
