SUMMERY
Developing Skills of the Workers in Religious Courts in Solving Domestic Conflicts as an Entry for Improvement of the Psychological Compatibility of the Children of the Conflicted Families
Researcher: Mohammed Abdel Hafez Abed Rabu Abu Alkhair.
Introduction:
Domestic conflicts are considered one of the main reasons behind dysfunctional family relationships. Research and statistics indicate that the surge of economic, social and psychological problems are a major cause of domestic conflicts which results in the increase of divorce levels, and social upbringing issues.
Therefore, social experts and domestic conflict specialists work on developing their skill to assist in solving these conflicts, however these efforts were faced by the humanitarian crisis and current living conditions in Palestine in general, and Gaza Strip in particular as a result of the ongoing blockade and frequent wars.
This study focuses on the following question:
How effective is the program of the domestic conflict resolution’s skills development for the worker in the legal system on the improvement of psychological compatibility in family’s construction?.
Two sub-questions are related to the main research question, as following:
1. Are there statistically significant differences in psychological compatibility between children of the dominant family group and the experimental family group, and who is responsible for these differences.
2. Are there statistically significant differences in psychological compatibility between children of dominant family group and the experimental family group during the pre and post evaluation.
The importance of research:
The importance of this study comes from the importance of the issue it focuses on and the significance of the target group, which is the Palestinian family, the nucleus of the society. It also deals with the psychological compatibility of the children, and the impact of contacting family counseling centers on the parents skills towards improving their children compatibility.
Also, the study proposes a comprehensive program’s design to enhance the capacity of the workers in the legal system and courts to improve their abilities in solving family conflicts professionally and scientifically.
Research hypotheses:
1. There are no statistically significant differences in psychological compatibility for children from parent’s viewpoint in pre and post evaluation.
2. There are no statistically significant differences in psychological compatibility level for children from parents’ point of view in experimental, pre and post evaluation.
Research goals:
1. Examining the level of impact and effectiveness of the capacity building program for workers in religious courts in domestic conflict resolution.
2. Recognizing the level of impact of the program on the psychological compatibility among children in conflicted families.
Target group:
The target group of this study are the workers in the religious courts in the Gaza Strip who specialize in domestic conflict resolution and children of the conflicted family who regularly visit the family counseling department.
Methodology:
To implement this study, the researcher used the semi-experimental design and depended on the experimental, pre and post evaluation model to examine the hypotheses of the this study.

Research Sample:
The study sample included seventeen specialists and workers in domestic conflict resolution field within Gaza Strip’s courts. It also included thirty parents of children ages between five to nine years who regularly visit the family counseling department.
Tools:
1. Domestic conflict resolution skills’ scale.
2. Psychological compatibility scale for the children in the conflicted families.
3. Domestic conflict resolution skills’ development program for workers at the religious courts.
Statistical methods:
1. Pearson correlation coefficient.
2. Spearman-Brown formula.
3. Z Test.
4. Wilcoxon Test.
5. T Test Paired sample formula.
Research Results:
1. There is a major impact on the level of the improvement of the psychological compatibility among the children in the research sample who were part of the family counseling within the program.
2. The importance of the family counseling in preventing children the impacts of the domestic conflicts.
