Abstract
In recent time, the world seeks for using eco-friendly materials harmless to the environment and human health. In the field of interior design and furniture industry the use of harmful materials to the environment and human health has spread especially those used in wood-based panels industry. Therefore, it’s needed to do study of the possibility of adapting the local natural environmental resources especially agricultural plant waste technologically in the production of eco- friendly manufactured wood- based panels to meet contemporary Egyptian society needs without harming the environment. Hence , the study addressed :
- Study manufactured wood - based panels technology and factors determined its efficiency.
- Environmental considerations for the use of manufactured wood-based panels.
- Study the eco- friendly manufactured wood –based panels.
- Properties of wood-based panels and their applications in interior design and furniture.
- Analysis American model of eco- friendly manufactured wood- panels (case study )
- Monitoring of plant agricultural residues in the local environment and a survey of local factories that use these residues in wood-based panels industry.
Through previous studies researcher reached to make molded shapes manufactured from plants agricultural residues and use it in furniture and interior designs. Also reached to some conclusions and recommendations that support the field of manufactured wood-based panels industry in light of preserving the environment and human health and the exploitation of local resources.
