The small projects are important for development. They contribute significantly in fighting unemployment, as they accommodate a lot of intensive labor. Since its orientation, the Social Fund Organization helps in the promotion of small businesses which plays an important role in the national economy as an effective means of production as well as one of the mainstays of the advancement in the national economy. Since, the large business doesn’t grow and doesn’t achieve any success without small projects that provide them with their needs and raw materials.
UFirst: The problem of the studyU:
Small projects play an important role in supporting the economy, as they are an important part of the economic fabric since they play of a vital and essential role in supporting national economic activity, which suffers from ups and downs in its entity and its mechanisms. It requires finding out new solutions against this deterioration in small projects that fill a large part of the needs of the domestic market, reduce the import by producing what is being imported, and open up new areas for export. Small projects also provide new job opportunities as well as contribute in the industrial development.
Rural women play an important role in the field of small projects. It is a new phenomenon on the Egyptian market and a natural change of thinking and trying to benefit from the investment of funds in successful projects. Rural women play an effective positive role in the development process to increase production. Besides, in the economic, social and rural development it requires the development of performance of rural women and upgrading cultural and environmental level till they reach the level of economic and social objective, which directly affects the performance of their participation in pushing the rural development process.
The most important focus of theresearcher in this paper is to recognize the impact of small projects in improving the lifestyle of women in Demietta.
USecond: The importance of the studyU:
1 - Theoretical importance:
The study seeks to utilize the literature written about rural women and small projects in such a way that serves the subject of the study, in order to identify the aspects of agreement and disagreement among the previous studies in the same field that dealt with rural women and small projects without mentioning small projects and their effects on quality of life among women in Damietta.
2 – Practical importance:
It seeks to identify the social and environmental impacts associated with small projects and their effects on quality of life on women in Damietta in order to identify the importance of small projects in improving the quality of life for women in Damietta.
Third: The objectives of the study:
1- Identifying problems that Damiettan women face in the study community.
2- Identifying the kind of projects carried out by Damiettan women in the study community and the impact of women’s work in changing her life.
3- Uncovering the impact of small projects at the economic level and lifestyle.
4- Finding out the direct effects of small projects on the way of thinking and improving communication skills of Damiettan women.
5- Identifying obstacles that hold Damiettan women’s participation in small projects.
Fourth: Inquiries of the study:
1- What are the most important problems facing Damiettan women in the community of the study?
2- What kind of the small projects are Damiettan women in the community of the study good at?
3- What is the impact of small projects at the economic level and lifestyle?
4- What is the impact of small businesses on the way of thinking and on improving communication skills of Damiettan women.
5- What are the main obstacles that hold Damiettan women’s participation in small projects? What are the ways of solution?
Fifth: The most important conclusions of the study:
1- The rural Damiettan woman has a significant role both in agricultural production and production.
2- The rural woman helps her family economically as she does a lot of work that generate income on her family, like looking after livestock and poultry.
3- The important role of small businesses is represented in providing job opportunities, reducing unemployment, increasing the income of productive family, and raising the standard of lifestyle.
4- The most important problems that lead to the failure of small projects are: physical problems, marketing problems, organizational problems, economic problems and structural problems.
Sixth: Recommendations of the study:
1. To encourage rural women in attending literacy classes and taking advantage of cultural programs.
2. To develop the rural non-farm activities among rural women in order to increase their income.
3. To develop special projects for rural women that raise their efficiency, increase their income and remove the obstacles facing their families.
4. To facilitate rural women’s access to finance and credit as it’s difficult for them to get credit guarantees for banks.
5. To raise rural women’s awareness of their rights and to help them overcome the improper customs and traditions which have no basis of religion and which limit their participation and isolate them.
6. To try to eliminate the wrong concepts and misconceptions of religion beliefs, such as female genital mutilation, early marriage by trying to correct understanding of the concepts of religion.
7. To encourage the establishment of cooperative societies of a special nature in the village in which the female members adequately represented.
8. To work on upgrading the performance of women in the agricultural and livestock work, by providing them with the necessary technical data, through establishing special training courses.
