”The science is the key to the future of mankind Universe is full of mysteries, and the jurisprudence of human discovery cost him time and effort considerably, and this changing world, which for Itpt on the fact that one census or a static image, but the variables are engulfed from all sides and education, which we plan to do for the future of the unborn for this study, the science connected between the structures of the past and the problems of the present and future needs (Fethiye Subhi)
So there has been raced and competition between the various countries of the world, especially the developed countries in the fields of curriculum development in general and science curriculum particularly, in order to prepare individuals are able to keep up with the pursuit of the current times and the challenges of Prediction and face the future ”The task of education is no longer limited to the collection of scientific material, but also the development of skills acquired and employed, and even generate new knowledge, and be so much easier if an individual’s learning how to use these methods and styles, not only in the field of study concerned, but also in attitudes facing his life.” (Zainab Mohammed 2007)
It advances scientific, and technological taking place in the current era - and that will be affected by the different spheres of life rapidly in the near future, and then we have to respond to them science education at the present time to prepare young people to deal with variables, and their consequences in the future - are those related to space science, and clubbing rights to him, and harnessed to meet certain requirements; They are one of the areas of the scientific revolution, and contemporary technological; terms of turning the space into the field full of actively multi-objective; For example: the satellite with numerous functions; such as studying weather, environment, and communications, as well as the disclosure of the wealth different ground, as well as the processes and applications, the task of scanning space; sackcloth agricultural crops, and mapping of natural resources, and the disclosure of groundwater, and monitoring encroachment of cities on agricultural land, pollution of the seas and beaches, and the erosion of river deltas, and monitor forest fires, and the sites of Fisheries and others. ”( Nevin helmy.2007 )
”Therefore, education has become urgent earth sciences for students in all grades, after he helped the modern satellite technology to provide a new perspective for the planet shares the vision and the exploration and study of new and useful ways.” (Ahlam el Baz, 2007)
The results of the analysis of the content of the curriculum current environmental science, geology, results of previous studiesinsufficiency current approach for the development of scientific concepts needed for high school students and the lack of attention to the development of behavior predictive through the current content, while calling on both previous studies, curricula and standards of local and global need for interest in earth sciences the various stages of education in general and the secondary in particular, so Crystallized research problem as follows Defining the problem: -
Through the above research problem can be identified to inadequate the curricula of Environmental Science and Geology current: - 1-Emphasis on the major concepts of Earth Sciences. 2- Concern for the development of scientific concepts. 3- Attention to the development of predictive behavior. To address this problem, current research is trying to answer the main question follows: - ”What is the Effectiveness of the Suggested Curriculum in the Earth Sciences for the Development of Scientific Concepts and Predictive behavior for Secondary Stage Students
And branches of this main question several sub-questions of the following: -
1 - The foundations of the approach proposed in the earth sciences to secondary school students?.
2 - What is the current status of earth science curriculum in light of the current list of previous foundations?.
3 - What is the general framework of the approach proposed in Earth Sciences at the secondary level public?.
4 - What is the effectiveness of the proposed approach to the Earth Sciences in the development of scientific concepts among secondary school students?.
5 - What is the effectiveness of the proposed approach to the Earth Sciences in the development of predictive behavior among secondary school students? Research goals: -
Current research aims to: 1- provide a list of foundations needed to build a curriculum in earth sciences at the secondary level can benefit Curriculum planners the Ministry of Education. 2- Provide a general framework for the curriculum of Earth Sciences at the secondary level can benefit planners and curriculum design. 3- Disclosure of the effectiveness of the proposed approach in the development of scientific concepts . 4- Disclosure of the effectiveness of the proposed approach in the development of predictive behavior.
-Limitation of the research :
Current search limited to the following limits: - 1 - A proposal in the context of a structural approach to the Earth Sciences high school. 2 - Setting standards of Earth Sciences at the secondary level. 3 - Analysis of the current curriculum content of Geology at the secondary level. 4 - A group of high school students (Masr - alkadima educational management in Cairo) where the application for the possibility of a workplace researcher. 5 - Determine the effectiveness of the proposed approach through a workout one of its units to a group of high school students. 6- Search results and the specific conditions of time and place to hold this search.
The research methodology: - adopted the current research on the use of all of the descriptive approach in the preparation of the standards of Earth Sciences for the construction of the proposed approach and research tools, and curriculum quasi-experimental to reveal the effectiveness of the proposed approach (as an independent variable) in the development of scientific concepts and behavior predictive (as dependent variables) to the group Search using experimental design with one group. The Hypotheses of the study: - 1-Current approach Does not include to scientific concepts and topics related to earth sciences necessary for high school students 2- There are significant differences between the mean scores of students in the research group of tribal application to test and posttest scientific concepts in favor of the post application. 3- There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students in the research group and the application of tribal dimensional scale predictive behavior for the benefit of post application
Search Terms: Curriculum Earth Sciences : - Know the current study curriculum Earth Sciences procedurally as a set of experiences, knowledge and scientific concepts related to the planet and the universe and offered to secondary school students in a functional according to a general plan, and the goals of certain behavioral (cognitive - emotional - skill) and teaching strategies appropriate for students of that stage, and aimed at achieving the overall growth and development scientific concepts and predictive behavior they have, to help them understand and predict phenomena and interpretation of events and their natural surroundings inside and outside the school
Scientific concepts : ”as a conclusion mental reached by the learner when it draws the qualities or the common elements about a particular phenomenon, and understand the relationships between these elements or qualities or things gives for this conclusion is the name or term )Nadia Abou El-Enein (2003, p 86)
Prediction Behavior
- The definition of the researcher as a set of acts and performances observable and measurement, and issued by the learner during its interaction with different positions, and refers to the ability of the learner to anticipate the phenomenon or event in the future based on what has the data and expertise (knowledge) precedent.
The procedures of the Search: - to answer questions Current search, researcher followed the following actions: -
First: identify the building blocks approach proposed in Earth Sciences at the secondary level, through the study and analysis of: - 1 - trends and global projects of modern earth science curriculum. 2 - research and previous studies that focused on methods of Earth Sciences, both on the local or global. 3 - Prepare a list of key topics and scientific concepts related to earth sciences to high school students in light of the above, and presented to a group of experts and specialists in this area and make the necessary adjustments in the light of their views, and then put it in its final form. 4 - National and international standards for earth science curriculum at the secondary level in Egypt. 5 - Develop a list of criteria of Earth Sciences in the light of the above, and then presented to a group of experts and specialists in this area and make the necessary adjustments in the light of their views, and then put it in its final form. 6 - the study of the properties of high school students in Egypt. 7 - lay the foundations for building a proposed curriculum in earth sciences at the secondary level in the light of the above.
Second: determine the current status of earth science curriculum at the secondary level: - through a content analysis approach to geology, geology, environmental science at the secondary current in the light of the list of criteria for Earth Sciences. As can be seen from the results of the experiment reconnaissance on a sample of high school students and the experience of the researcher in this area not to allow students to acquire scientific concepts and predictive behavior to the extent appropriate.
Third: the development of the proposed framework for the curriculum of Earth Sciences at the secondary level, through: -
1 - the use of the grounds prior to the development of the framework in its initial explaining the general plan of the study. 2 - Show the window at a group of experts and specialists in this field, and make the necessary adjustments. 3 - Develop framework finalized in the light of the opinions of experts and specialists.
Fourth: to ensure the effectiveness of the proposed approach to the Earth Sciences in the development of scientific concepts and behavior predictive of students at the secondary level, through: - 1 - Selection Unit (Earth and the universe) of the proposed approach to the Earth Sciences, and the preparation of (student book and teacher’s guide) and presented to a group of experts and specialists in this field to ensure their suitability. 2 - Preparation Tools Calendar and is used in the (test scientific concepts, and predictive measure of behavior) and presented to a group of experts and specialists to ensure their suitability 3 - Selection of the research group of first-graders secondary. 4 - applied research tools tribal students research group. 5 - Teaching the proposed unit for students of the research group. 6 - Application of research tools Uday students research group. Fifth - data processing and statistical discussion and interpretation of the results. Sixth- make recommendations and proposals in the light of the outcome of the results of the study.
Search results: - 1 - the lack of scientific concepts and the development of predictive behavior to the extent appropriate approach environmental science, geology current. 2 - There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of members of the research group in the two applications for pre and post scientific concepts for the benefit of its various dimensions dimensional application. 3 - There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of members of the research group in the two applications for pre and post measure of predictive behavior for the benefit of its various dimensions dimensional application. 4 - the effectiveness of the proposed approach in the development of scientific concepts and predictive behavior among students in the first grade secondary.
