Corruption won the attention of many researches and analysts in recent, Because it is no longer just phenomenon in Egyptian society, but it has become the working mechanism of the political and economic, this has increased the interest in reports of Transparency international which put Egypt among the most corrupt countries, and therefore the problem of the study is to know the extent of the impact of corruption on economic growth by measuring its effects on the various transmission channels of foreign direct investment and the efficiency of government spending and net exports.
2) Study subject:
The aim of this study was to estimate the effects of corruption on various economic channels, which can in turn affect economic growth, in addition to the use of the experiences of some countries in the fight against corruption, which has achieved notable successes in that direction, especially with similar economic circumstances with Egypt.
3) Study results:
Corruption affects the rates of economic growth both directly and indirectly by reducing the volume of foreign direct investment, increase trade deficit, as well as to reduce the effectiveness of government spending, which leads to lower rates of economic growth, and therefore it is clear that corruption does not only lead to a reduction in the volume of investments new foreign but also lead to a reduction in the efficiency of the current capital, which leads to lower economic growth rates.
4) Study Recommendations:
1) Strengthen moral values calling for integrity, honesty and integrity in the community, through the curriculum in schools and universities.
2) Increase the effectiveness of civil society and non-governmental organizations in exposing corruption and cooperation with regulatory agencies and security in combat, in addition to establishing transparency and accountability in the society.
3) Ease the bureaucratic procedures to the maximum degree, because more complicated bureaucratic procedures increase the opportunities for corruption.
4) Increase the effectiveness of the elements of the internal control Institutions and government agencies.
5) double the legal penalties for corrupt.
