Abstract

Nowaday the widespread use of antibiotics in poultry farms are practised without any control. Antibiotics are used not only for prevention and treatment of many diseases but also for increasing growth rate. The antibiotic residues in poultry products <tissues, organs) produce harmful effect for human consumers So the present study was performed for determining the presence of antibiotics in different tissues and organs of
Broilers and rabbits and also for detection of the effect of
Freezing and heat treatment on the residues of these drugs
[Doxycycline Hcl and Aminosidin sulphate.]. So thefollowlng
Experiments were performed. 1L ~ DETECTION OF DOXYCYCLINE HYDROCHLORIDE RESIDUES IN BROILERS. Fifteen chickens from broilers of both sexes were given a balanced ration free from antibiotics or any feed additives for two weeks. At the end of these two weeks Five chickens• as controls were slaughtered and microbiologically examined or the absence of antibiotic residues in different tissues and internal organs. The remaining tenth chickens were then administered doxycycline Hcl(10 mglkg-body weight) orally for 5 sucsseive days.
Two chickens were slaughtered after 24. 48. 72. 96 and
120 hours from the last time Qf administration of drug and the amount of drug residues were measured in serum, breast. Thigh muscles, liver, gizzard, kidney, skin and fat under complete aseptic condition and examined for the presence of antibiotic residues. It was found that doxycycline Hcl residues in freshly examined samples were failed detected after 48 hours from the last administration of drug in thigh muscles, gizzard and skin and were failed detected after 72 hours from last administration of drug in breast muscles, Liver, fat and Serum. But in kidneys, residues were failed detecti.onafter last administration of drug with 96 hours. Ilb. EFFECT OF HEAT TREATMENT [BOILING] ON DOXYCYCLINE HYDROCHLORIDE RESIDUES IN BROILERS.
Samples of tissues and organs which were taken from
Breastandthigh muscles, Liver, gizzard. Kidneys: skin and fat were examined after boiling for 45 minutes. It was found that doxycycline Hcl residues were failed
Detection in breast muscles, skin and fat after boiling but in . Thigh muscles, liverj Kidney and gizzard doxycycline Hcl residues were failed detected after 24 hours from last administration of drug.
1) c. EFFECT OF FREEZING ON DOXYCYCLINE HYDROCHLORIDE
RESIDUES IN BROILERS: Samples of tissues and organs which were taken from chickens [breast, andthigh muse les , Liver. Gizzard. O skin and fat]were put,: in deep freezer at-18 C to kidneys. O -20 C and
These samples examined for presence or absence of doxycycline Hcl residues. It was found that doxycycline residues disappeared from Skin samples after 24 hours from freezing andin breast and
Thigh musclesj liver, gizzard and fat after 48 hours from freezing, But in kidneys doxycycline” residues disappeared after 72 hours from freezing . .II ) a. ”- DETECTION OF DOXYCYCLINE HYDROCHLORIDE RESIDUES IN
