Abstract

During the last decade, concentration of industrial activity exandria has lead to disequilibrium in the ecological balance ‘significant deterioration in the quality of the environment. Industries in Alexandria discharge their effluent into water
The use of this drain water in irrigation and drinking may
to transmission of many chemical toxicant into animal tissues.
animals can be exposed to potentially toxic mineral
tients from various sources. Accidental introduction of mineral
the diet or consumed over extended period of time by feeding frai wastes or municipal garbage, through the industrial taiuination of grazing areas or other feedstuff a, or the use of 1rticular supplements. Such intake9 can result in accumulation of
elements leading to intensify the problem. Some of these stances may fiend their way into animal tissue, the problem is tensified by raring of animals near the road of high traffic density.
All of these facts lead to accumulation of chemical pollutants .icluding heavy metals in animals. Some of these elements have a
value e g iron, copper, zinc, magnesium, but its
come harmful at imbalance intake. Other elements have xicological significant e.g. cadmium, lead and mercury.
