Abstract

I In vitro two methods were used for the determination of sulfadimidine. These methods were agar diffusion test and spectrophotometric method. For agar diffusion test. B.subtilis ((BGA)) and standard II agar were used. The detection limits of the reference substance solution were 12.5pg/ml.
By using spectrophotometric method the optical density of standard solution was measured spectrophotmetrically at wave length 545nm. Spectrophotometric method had high sensitivity where detection limits of reference substance in standard solution 5jag/ml and may reach to 1 pglml.
II Experimental
50 clinically healthy chicken of both sexes were used in this study and classified into two group.
The first group was used as control. (15 chicken) the secand group (35 chicken) received sulfadimidine sudium solution via intracrop route in a single therapeutic dose of 200mg/kg body weight for determination of sulfadimidine in serum, as well as it’s residual
