Abstract

Direct Torque Control (DTC) has emerged over the last decade to become one possible alternative to the well known vector control of induction machine. Us main characteristics are good performance, obtaining results as good as the classical vector control 1ml with several advantages basal on its simpler structure ami it doesn’t depend lieavily on motor parameter variation.
DTC is said to be one of the fuiure ways of controlling me induction machine in lour quadrants. In Direct Torque Control (DTC), il is possible to control directly the stalor [lu\ mid the lorque by selecting the appropriate inverter state. This method still requires furlhei- research in order to improve the ’motor’s performance.
This thesis presents a study of Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Direct Self Control (DSC) of a 3-phase induction motor, and illustrates the advantages and disadvantages of those control techniques.
One of the problems associated with DTC is the sluggish response during startup or in step change of torque command in the eonvential method due to the switching slates chosen for the large error are the same as small error. Therefore, a fuzzy DTC is proposed to solve this problem.
