Abstract The present work is devoted to investigate in some details the e.m.f. and kinetic studies concerning the ion—paii’ing effects on the rate of aquation of both chioro— and bromopentamniinecobalt (III) ions in different dicarbozcylate media containing 10% (v/v) of dioxane at five different temperatures. The thesis comprises three chapters. The first chapter deals with a general survey on the effect of ion—association on the rate of chemical reaction with special interest to the aquat ion of halogen— opentamxninecobalt(III) and Or(Ifl) complex iom in different media while the aim of investigation and the statment of the problem are put prior to this chapter. The second chapter describe the methods of preparation of the Co(III)— coraplezces aM the reçuired solutions beside the details of the experiraental techniques for both equilibrium and kinetic studies. The third chapter give the detailed results of the e.ra.f. aM kinetic studies with a conipereheusive discussions. This chapter is subdivided into two essential parts. The first part is concerned with the electromotive force measurenients utilized for the determination of the first and the second dissociation constants and 1(2) of five different dicaitolic acids (in 10% dioxane) namely, succinic, tartaric, malonic, maleic and phthalic at five. |
