(1) To identify and assess common infectious skin diseases in Alexandria. (2) To study relevant factors related to their occurence. (3) To study the role of PHC institutions in their detection and control. Materials and Methods Three clinics representing three different sectors of the community were chosen for this study. The se are Bacus Dermatology Clinic, Faranah School Health Unit, and Nandarah H. Centre. 150 patients were chosen at random from each clinic - total 450 patients - of different ages of both sexes. Accordingly we can safely say that the sample represents the general universe. Three types of questionnaires were used in collecting the data: one for the patients, one for the physicians and the third for a profile of the studied clinics. The researcher, being a resident in Dermatology, performed the clinical examination of all the cases, and the investigations needed, under guidance of the supervisors. The studied was done during February through May 1991 and data were analysed manually. The Results. |
