Abstract
Women wno delivered by Caesarean section more than six hours following rupture of the foetal membranes are more liable to develop post-operative wound infection .
Recent bacterialogical investigations have confirmed that these infections usually invlove multiple aerobic and anaerobic bacteria . A number of studies have reported significant decrease in post-operative wound infection by prophylactic topical antib¬iotics. •
