Abstract The liver fluke is a common parasite of liver and biliary tract of herbivorous animals allover the world. Although fascioliasis is a rare disease in man, several outbreaks ha ve occurred in many countries. In E~pt. human infection by Fasciola is being reported with increas ing frequency. The aim of our work is to elucidate the validity of adult Fasciola- worm antigen in the form of ocular wstillation as a rapid and cheep method to diagnose animal fascioliasis in t he field and to get informat ion about the prevalence of both types of .Eo ~igantica and ~ hepatica among the slaughtered animals in ~l-Menofia abattories 0 In this work two groups of animals were examined for diagnosis of. ifascioliasis.
