Abstract

investigations blood urea, serum creatinine and creatinine clearance in addition to B2M measurement. The results could be summarized as follows: • The mean serum B2M was initially within normal range in both groupS and continued to decrease significantly intraopera!ively and postoperatively 10 both dopamine and mannitol groups . • There were no statistically significant differences to serum B2M level between both groups during the intraoperativeperiod and on the first postoperative day . • Six-hours postoperatively, mean serum B2M level was significantly lower in mannitol group than that of dopamine group, on the other hand, the mean decrease in serum B2M 6-hours postoperatively relative to the preoperative level was the same in both groups . • There was no significant correlation between serum bilirubin and serum B2M level preoperatively or postoperativcly in both groups.
