Abstract
The present work comprised the study of 20 elderly subjects 60 years and more old non diabetic serving as control and other 30 elderly subjects 60 years and more old diabetic non insulin dependent
Each group was equally divided in to males and females all subjects under study showed no cardiac renal or liver diseases they were subjected to the following studies :-
1- detailed history taking full clinical examination complete blood picture complete urine analysis blood urea , serum creatinine transaminases ( SGOT,SGPT )
And serum alkaline phosphatase fasting blood suger and postprandial ” 2 hr ” blood suger test .
2- oral glucose tolerance test insulin sensitivity test separately and together
