Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is associated with early and sometimes rapidly progressing micro- and macroangiopathic lesions with alterations of the haemostatic system.The cuff test (VOT) was done as atrial for prediction and detection of thrombosis in diabetic patients (IDDM & NIDDM)with and without vascular complications in comparison to those of non diabetic control subject.In this work. the effect of VOT on selected coagulation and fibrinolytic parameters were investigated in 40 patients with DM and 10 matched healthy controls.The diabetic patients were categorized into two subgroups (with and without vascular complications). A.complete lipid profile was carried out which included, total Ech.olesterol. HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholestei-ol and riglycerides in addition to a fasting and post prandial blood[lucose levels.
