Abstract 1-The aim of this study: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect ofPGEl and an-irinone on ischemia -reperfusion injury during liver resection in cin’hotic patients who had hepatocelluiar carcinoma. 2-Patients and methods: 30 cirrhotic patients who were schedualcd for hepatic resection for licpatocellular carcinoma using Pringle maneuver had been divided into three groups :- 1. Control group (10 patients) who received neither of the drugs. 2. Prostaglandin Ei group (10 patients) who received PGE1 as an intravenous infusion in a dose of 0.02 ug/ kg/ min through a central venous catheter. 3. Amrinone group (10 patients) who received amrinone infusion in a dose of 4 ug/kg/min through central venous catheter. This infusion started at the beginning of the operation and continue throughout the operation time. After over night fasting- a thoracic epidural catheter was inserted and patients induced for general anesthesia using fentanyl thiopentone succinyl choline and maintained by isoflurane fentanyl and thoracie epidural boluses of marcaine 0.25% with mechanical ventilahon .Liver resection was done with i Pringle maneuver used as a method to control bleeding or to secure big blood vessels in all patients. |
