Abstract

hepatitis c virus (hcv )is major public heaith problem. it is the most common sause of chronic liver disease and it is also common among maintenance hemodialysis patient the high prevalence of hcv infection in hd patient has been attributed not only to the frequency of blood transfusion among these patients , but also to increasing duration of dialysis it was found that extra corporeal in hd is associated with leukocyte blood leukocytes are apossible source of hgf , besause hgf is produced by leukocytes in diseased liver tissue thus dialysis may induce the release of hgf either from from activated peripheral blood leukocytes or from tissue cells stimulated by cytokines the aim of this work is to shed some light on relationship between the hd process and hgf level in crf with hcv +ve patients on regular hd and to study the effect of hgf onhcv related liver disease in these patients
