Abstract
The aim of this work was to study of Helicobacter Pylon infection in type 1 diabetic patients with dyspepsia using breath test.
To achieve such target, we selected 20 type 1 diabetic patients with dyspepsia, 10 type 1 diabetic patients without dyspepsia, 10 non diabetic subjects with dyspepsia and a group of 10 healthy individuals. Individuals were subjected to clinical evaluation, basic laboratory study, diagnostic upper endoscopy and ‘3C breath test.
Helicobacter Pylon was diagnosed mainly depending on histopathology which is the gold standard methods for diagnosis,at the same time we investigated the C3 UBT which is recent non invasive methods for diagnosis of HP infection and compared it with histopathology.
We found that there was no significant difference among the studied groups as regard age and gender (P>0.05). Mean fasting blood sugar was significantly lower in groups III&IV compared to groups I&1I
(P<0 .000).
Regarding postprandial blood glucose (PPBS), we found that Mean PPBS was significantly lower in groups III&IV compared to groups I&II (P<0.000), and there is no significant difference between group I and group II.
Regarding glycosylated hemoglobin (HA1c), we found that Mean HAl c was significantly lower in groups III&IV compared to groups
