Abstract This work was carried out on 100 pregnant women who were categorized into two groups1) FuIl-tenn pregnant women ( 37 weeks). 2) Pre-term pregnant women (<37 weeks). The studied groups were subjected to: 1) Complete history taking including age, gestational age, parity, residence, occupation’, active or passive smoking. Alcohol consumption, use of black eye make-up (Khol). 2) Clinical examination including pulse, temperamre blood presSUre fundal level etc. 3) Apgar score was done for the neonates by the obsteuiC staff. 4) Complete blood picture.- 5) Serum iron, T1BC. ferritifl and serum calcium. 6) Whole blood lead level. The results of the study can be summarized in the following: • A significant difference (P<0.05) between maternal and neonatal cord blood lead level in pre-teflTl and full-term groups. - |
