Abstract

Neuromuscular blocking agents have been used widely in anaesthesia for many years and from that time there have been major advances in drugs available for the clinical use. Neuromuscular blocking agents are essential in anaesthetic
practice. These drugs facilitate endotracheal intubation, provide improved surgical condition and decrease the concentration of inhalational anaesthetics. There is a need for ideal neuromuscular blocking drug for neuroanesthesia and critical patient anaesthesia viili greater cardiovascular stability without cerebral or cardiovascular haemodynamic side effect, histamine releasing properties with lack of dependence on hepatic or renal metabolism, and all of these present in ideal neuromuscular blocking agent cisatracurium (Wolfagang et al., 1998).
The introduction of cisatracurium represents an important step forward in anesthetic practice.
Cisalracurinm is used with wide safety margin in healthy adult, extremes of age (elderly patients and children), renal and hepatic patient (Eastwoocl et al., 1 995), cardiovascular
