Abstract OME is the commonest cause of hearing difficulty and one of the most common reasons for surgical adimission during childhood. So this study was performed using endoscopy to diagnose OME aetiopathological diagnosis of OME and treatment of OME. Patients with OME (group A) were divided into two subgroups according to their age: • Subgroup AI includes 27 patients (46 ears) with the age from 4 to 14 years old, 39 ears of them had non recurrent OME and 7 ears had recurrent OME. Bilateral effusions were present in 19 patients and unilateral effusions were present in 8 patients. • Subgroup All includes 23 patients (28 ears) with the age from 15 to 60 years old, 20 ears of them had non recurrent OME and 8 ears had recurrent OME. Bilateral effusions were present in 5 patients and unilateral effusions were present in 18 patients. Normal control group B was divided in to two subgroups according to their age: • Subgroup BI includes 20 patients (40 ears) with the age from 4 to 14 years old. •Subgroup BII includes 22 patients (44 ears) with the age from 15 to 60 years old.
