In cancer breast both estrogen and polyunsaturated fatty acid generate reactive oxygen species .
Increase activity of erythrocyte antioxidant enzyme occurs as a compensatory upregulation increase glutathione reductase in response to increased oxidative stress, to maintain adequate level of reduced glutathione high GSH/glutathione disulfide for protection against oxidative stress .
Ascorbic acid readily scavenger of neutralize oxygen species before lipid peroxidation is initiated .
There by effectively protect genetic material from oxidative damage. Over time much damage may become irreversible and lead to cancer .
Also this study deails to evaluate some antioxidants as plasma glutathione reductase and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) patients with breast cancer and study its relation to lipid peroxidation by measurement of malondiadehyde (MDA) in blood of patients with cancer breast .
