Abstract Non Hodgkin lymphoma is a group of related disorders that possess a combination of clinical, histologic, immuno pathologic and molecular features that distinguish the group from other similar nelasms. Patients with NHL may exhibit systemic symptoms such as fever, night sweets, a cute phase response and cachexia, that are important prognostic indicators, such symptoms may be due to the release of cytokines by the lymphoma cells. The aim of the present study was to study serum Tumour Necrosis Factor alpha and interfeukin-2 in non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients as a prognostic marker and correlation with different NHL stages. This work included fifty two subjects with ages ranging between 20-60 years, suffering from NHL. They were subclassified into 3 groups. Group I [patients with NHL stages I/Il] group II [patients with NHL stage Ill], group Ill [patients with NHL stages IV] In addition, twenty healthy subjects with age ranging between 20-60 years, volunteered to participate in the present study as controls. Non of them had suffer from active bacterial or fungal infection, positive for human immunodeficiency virus, autoimmuno disease or receive steroid drugs. |
