Abstract
Cervical erosion is a clinical term used to describe a reddened area around the external os. Erosion might be congenital, hyperplastic, or inflammatory.
The present work was carried out on 40 cases of inflammatory cervical erosion. The aim was to compare the effect of diathermy cauterization and cryocauteriza-tion in the treatment of cervical erosion.
Patients belonged to one of two groups, each consisted of 20 women. Patients of the first group were treated with diathermy cauterization in one session. Cases of the second group were treated with cryocauteri-zation.
