Abstract The study was carried out on 20 patients; 11 males and 9 females. Their ages ranged between 15 and 65 years. All were inpatients in the medical wards of the Alexandria university main hospital. Our aim was to study the various etiologies, aggravating and precipitating factors. Also we were trying to evaluate the response to two weeks of therapy. All patients were subjected to : a. Proper history taking and clinical examination. b. Radiological examination for both chest and heart. c. Electrocardiographic examination. d. Laboratory investigations were done including some liver and kidney functions as e.g. - Serum transaminases - Prothrombin time and activity. - Urine analysis - Blood urea. - Serum creatinine. - Serum sodium and potassium. |
