Abstract This investigation was carried out during 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons in the Laboratory and Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University on Khaya senegalensis and Acacia farnesia’na tree seedlings. , Three experiments were conducted. The first experiment was carried out in the Laboratory of Genetics to induce some mutants of Azotobacter vinelandii bacteria by irradiation with UV(ultraviolet). The second and third experiments were executed . at the Experimental Farm to explore the effects of inoculation with different Azotobacter vinelandii bacteria mutants as N fixing bacteria, which were induced in the first experiment, in combinations with three levels of the recommended mineral nitrogen fertilization (25, 50 and 75% of the recommended dose) on the vegetative growth and chemical composition of Khaya senegalensis and Acacia farnesiana seedlings grown in different soil types, namely, clay, sand and mixed soil (clay + sand at 1:1 by weight). |
