Abstract

A pot experiment was carried out at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of agriculture, Minia University, during two successive summer seasons 1989 and
1990 in order to study the response of Achillea millefolium plants grown in four different soil media types to various nutrient spray concentrations of zinc and/or
manganese.
Divisions of Achillea were planted in 10-cm clay pots filled with clay loamy soil for nine weeks and then transplanted to 25-cm clay pots filled with 3 kg of one of
the four assigned soli media types (clay loamy, sand, sand + composted cotton seed hulls (C.S.H) 5:1 on weight basis or sand + composted acalona 5:1 on weight
basis. Four weeks after transplanting, plants were sprayed with Zn at 50, 100 or 2OO ppm; Mn at 25, 50 or 100 ppm, as well as, the low, medium or high
concentratlon of both elements together. Control plants were sprayed with tap water. All micronutrients treatments were applied three times with two week intervals.
