Abstract
In the present study we included 40, middle_ aged, male
individuals divided into 4 approximately equal groups. The first group
(I) was lean control free of diseases known to affect the studied
parameters. The remaining three groups were obese (II, HI, and 0.
Group II & III were non-diabetic with normal systemic arterial blood
pressure (II) and hypertension (III) respectively. Group V was diabetic
hypertensive. In the original proposal we tried to include another group
(IV, android obesity, diabetic and normotensive). However after 18
months of patient recruitment we did not find patients with proposed
baseline selection inclusion criteria to be diabetic and in the meantime
normotensive.
