Abstract Scholastic or academic achievement is an important criterion for the physical mental and social aspects of the child the problem of underachievement is an important medical environmental and social problem because some of its sequalae are the DROP out of school emotional troubles antisocial behavior and delinquency The aims of this work were to determine the lead exposure among primary school pupils aged 8-10 years attending school dental clinics to identify possible potential sources of lead exposure to find out the relation between lead levels in blood teth and hair and scholastic achievement of the studied pupils and to reveal the relation of several confounding factors namely nutrition level IQ scores visual and hearing levels that may affect as well scholastic achievement of pupils on such association . |
