Abstract This study has been carried out on (90) cases with lymphadenopathy and (90) healthy individual who were attended to the department of internal medicine and general surgery of Assiut University Hospital during 1994-1995. Diagnosis was based on full history taking, thorough clinical and radiological examination. All patients and controls were subjected to the following investigation: - Rotine laboratory investigation. - X-ray chest. - Abdominal sonography. - Estimation of serum IgG and IgM toxoplasma titre. - Lymph node biopsy for patients only. These patients were divided according to lymphnode biopsy as follow: Group I (52) patients with non specific lymphadenitis. Group II: (13) patients with tuberculosis. Group III: (25) patients with neoplastic lymphadenopathy. In our study we found that toxoplasmic lymphadenopathy represented high percentage (61.11%) of lymphadenopathic cases in Assiut University hospital. |
