Abstract

An experiment was conducted inside plastic house in the site of the protected cultivation, Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate (CLAC), Agriculture Research Centre, Dokki, Giza governorate, Egypt. Where, the soil is a sandy clay and clay in texture.
A split-plot experimental design was used with three irrigation levels with amount equivalent to the 80%, 100%, and 120% of Epan reading and three nitrogen fertilization rates were added through irrigation water (fertigation system). These fertilization treatments were 80%, 100% and 120% from the recommended by the Ministry of agriculture and Reclamation Land Sweet pepper was cultivated on 19th of September 2004 to study the effect of three irrigation levels, nitrogen fertilization treatments and the interaction between them on pepper plants.
The obtained results could be summarized as follows:-
Reference evapotranspiration (ETo):-
The values of ETo followed the changes in the climatologicall norms during the growth season. The values of reference evapotranspiration can be arranged, in the following orders: modified penman > penman monteith > penman.

Actual evapotranspiration (ETa):-
The values of actual evapotranspiration at the initial stage were low. Then they increased to reach maximum at the late stage (April and May). Then the values declined as the crop became mature. The actual evapotranspiration was increased with increasing irrigation levels.
